What customers say?

“ The drive-up there was entertaining. The interior design was nice. They seated us on the terrace. The food was good but nothing too special. We had the gnocchi with octopus, the burger, lasagna and pasta with tomato sauce. For dessert, we had the honey ice cream. Overall, the experience was good and we recommend. ”

“ Service and food is excellent. A bit difficult to access or drive to ”

“ A memorable setting in the Tuscan countryside. The drive to it is a challenge due to the poor state of the road but it’s worth it. The food was excellent and service extremely friendly and clearly proud of their food and wine. We had the Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragu and the Gnocchi with Octopus for starter and then Pork Tenderloin and the Beef Chuck mains. All of the dishes with lots of flavour and cooked perfectly. Dessert was a light mouse with strawberry and meringue (a sort of Italian Eton mess) which was really tasty. I would stay away from the Honey Icecream, really strong in flavour and not great in all four of our views. The setting is stunning. Try and get a table outside and see the sunset. We have already booked to go again with friends at the end of this week. ”

“ What an amazing experience! Delicious food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. If the weather allows, ask for a seat outside! It’s very nicely decorated together with accompanying music this allows for a very special evening out. This was without a doubt our best restaurant experience in Tuscany (and we visited quite some restaurants over the course of 3 weeks). Thanks again! ”

“ This place is amazing! So reasonable and the food is locally sourced. If you can be there for the sunset you will be blown away. ”

“ Beautiful setting, fantastic food, and lovely service — highly recommend. We weren’t staying at this hotel but it was recommended to us by our nearby hotel, and we’re so glad we came. Set right up in the stunning hills of Tuscany, the location is absolutely beautiful with incredible countryside views. They have two restaurants on site and we managed to get a table without a reservation. The food was outstanding — every dish we had was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Service was equally impressive, with a super kind and attentive waiter who made us feel very welcome. The entire hotel grounds looked gorgeous, with live music playing in one area as guests watched the sunset, and a separate, super romantic restaurant space. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and setting. A brilliant experience overall — highly recommend if you’re in the area. Would definitely return. ”

“ WOW! Meravigliosa! Best meal I had in 6 weeks in Italy! Chef Stefano is very creative using fresh ingredients in combinations I have never experienced before. We shared 3 appetizers&3 pastas skipping the main course to allow room for dessert. The Zucca marinata(fresh&tasty in a tangy vinegar marinade), calamari in forno*the most tender I have ever eaten, served w/red cabbage was lovely. I was coerced into tasting the fegatini and if there were a few more toast creations&more balsamic reduction I would have eaten more of it. Pasta al ragù was everyones favorite with the bold flavors but the pasta di farina di castagne paled in comparison. The gnocchietti with polpo was FABULOUS but you must like pepper or ask them to use less. I enjoyed tasting everything although fegato is nothing I would choose, my friend wanted me to try it. I never order Gnocchi but I am so happy I did because it just melted in my mouth, light not starchy w/a cheesy sauce and octopus. Dessert, what rosemary creme brûlée had that great aroma, Bavarese al pistacchio over chocolate crust seemed like mousse and the local Cantuccini e vinsanto was a great finish! I hope to go back next year and stay a few nights at Villa Petriolo to try more delicacies & see the renovations which are underway. ”
